Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Officer to oversee and strengthen our health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices across active project sites in the UAE. In this role, you will be the primary guardian of site safety, responsible for identifying hazards before they become incidents and ensuring every team member adheres to strict safety protocols. This position is ideal for an HSE professional who is committed to maintaining high safety standards and ensuring full compliance with UAE municipal and federal regulations. You will play a critical role in fostering a disciplined working environment where safety awareness is integrated into every task.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and enforce all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies across various project locations.
- Conduct routine daily site inspections to identify potential risks, mechanical hazards, and unsafe conditions.
- Ensure the mandatory and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all staff and subcontractors.
- Deliver regular Toolbox Talks, safety briefings, and awareness sessions to diverse site teams.
- Document, report, and follow up on all incidents, near-misses, and non-compliance issues with the Management team.
- Maintain a safe, well-organized, and compliant site environment in line with UAE civil defense and municipality codes.
- Coordinate with Engineering leads to review method statements and risk assessments for specialized high-risk activities.
- Assist the Human Resources department in conducting safety induction training for new employees.
- Monitor fire safety systems and first-aid readiness across all accommodation and site facilities.
🔹 Requirements:
- Relevant Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) or a related discipline.
- Proven experience working on construction projects within the UAE is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and local municipality compliance standards.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and technical reporting skills in English.
- Ability to remain vigilant, organized, and proactive while working in high-pressure, high-risk environments.
- Proficiency in preparing safety documentation and digital incident reports.
- A valid UAE driving license is a significant advantage for visiting multiple project sites.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively deliver safety training to a multicultural workforce.
