Job Description:
We are currently hiring a skilled and motivated Joinery Material Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. This role is designed for a professional with a deep technical understanding of the materials and finishes essential to high-quality interior fit-out works. You will be responsible for ensuring that all materials used in our joinery production—from exotic veneers to specialized hardware—meet strict quality, durability, and cost-efficiency benchmarks. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between design vision and physical production, providing technical material expertise that supports our ongoing and upcoming project pipeline. We are looking for a hands-on engineer who is currently based in the UAE and ready to contribute to our technical excellence immediately.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Select and evaluate appropriate materials based on specific project blueprints and client requirements.
- Assess material quality and suitability for various applications, including moisture resistance and structural integrity.
- Ensure all wood, veneers, and finishes meet durability standards, UAE regulatory compliance, and budget targets.
- Coordinate closely with the production, procurement, and design Management teams for smooth project execution.
- Identify and source innovative, efficient, and sustainable material solutions to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Provide critical technical input to the Engineering team regarding the behavior of materials under different environmental conditions.
- Liaise with Human Resources regarding technical training for site staff on material handling and storage.
- Utilize Information Technology tools to maintain detailed material logs and specification sheets.
🔹 Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
- 2 to 3 years of proven experience in joinery or interior fit-out projects specifically within the UAE.
- Strong technical knowledge of wood species, veneers, laminates, MDF, plywood, and high-end hardware.
- Comprehensive understanding of finishing materials, including lacquers, stains, and protective coatings.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and translate them into material procurement lists.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on cost-effectiveness and material durability.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with multicultural production and site teams.
- Candidates must be currently residing in the UAE; immediate joiners will be given preference.
