Job Description:
We are recruiting an experienced Accountant for our Jebel Ali operations to manage end-to-end accounting functions. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment and has the technical skill to navigate UAE and Africa tax regulations. You will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining compliance, and providing the data-driven insights necessary for operational decision-making. From managing multi-currency reconciliations to overseeing overseas stock audits, you will play a central role in our regional finance department. We are looking for a candidate with strong analytical capabilities who can lead the monthly closing process and support the implementation of robust accounting controls.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complete accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger maintenance.
- Perform complex bank, supplier, customer, and intercompany reconciliations across regional branches.
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and prepare precise financial statements for Management review.
- Analyze Balance Sheet and Income Statement variances to evaluate and report on regional financial performance.
- Prepare detailed cost sheets and support SKU pricing and margin analysis for the distribution team.
- Manage cash flow and working capital while providing critical financial planning support.
- Coordinate annual audits and ensure timely compliance with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations.
- Oversee stock reconciliation and conduct ad-hoc stock audits for various overseas locations.
- Coordinate monthly payroll activities in partnership with the Human Resources and compliance teams.
- Liaise with Information Technology to support ERP implementations and accounting system optimizations.
🔹 Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as CA Final, ACCA, or Cost Accountant is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, taxation, and international financial reporting standards.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Tally, Retail Pro, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience in the logistics or distribution industry is a significant advantage.
- Candidates must be currently based in the UAE.
