Job Description / Role
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Project-Based Accounting: Maintain comprehensive financial records specifically for ongoing MEP subcontracting projects.
- Subcontractor Management: Manage accounts payable and receivable, focusing on supplier invoices, progress billings, and variations.
- Financial Controls: Process and track retention amounts and final account procedures with high accuracy.
- Job Costing: Monitor project budgets and ensure proper expense allocation to specific MEP jobs.
- VAT Compliance: Ensure all transactions and documentation strictly adhere to UAE VAT regulations.
- Reporting: Reconcile bank statements and assist in the preparation of detailed monthly financial summaries.
🔹 Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Industry Experience: Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in the UAE, with mandatory exposure to Construction or MEP Sub-Contracting.
- Technical Knowledge: Proven understanding of subcontractor billing, variations, and retention handling.
- Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for complex reporting and data analysis.
- Regulatory Awareness: Solid knowledge of UAE VAT laws and their application in the construction sector.
- Soft Skills: Ability to coordinate with project managers and site staff while working effectively under pressure.
