Job Description:
DAR is currently seeking a highly experienced Design Manager (Job ID: DM-26-1) to lead and oversee the complete design process across multiple high-profile projects. This senior role is critical in ensuring high design quality, technical compliance, and seamless coordination between internal disciplines and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing the design lifecycle from initial concept through to detailed development and authority approvals. We are looking for a leader who can balance creative architectural requirements with complex engineering constraints, ensuring that all deliverables align with Dubai’s rigorous building codes and project timelines.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the overall design process from initial concept stages through detailed design development and final authority approvals.
- Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to deliver fully integrated and coordinated design solutions.
- Review design submissions and deliverables to ensure accuracy, quality standards, and full compliance with UAE regulations and Dubai Building Code.
- Plan and control design schedules, resources, and deliverables in alignment with management-approved project timelines.
- Chair and lead design coordination meetings, technical reviews, and multidisciplinary workshops with internal teams and external consultants.
- Proactively identify potential design risks and resolve technical or coordination challenges during all project phases.
- Partner with Human Resources to mentor design staff and support multidisciplinary technical training.
- Liaise with the Information Technology team to implement advanced BIM and design software tools for enhanced collaboration.
- Provide ongoing design support during tendering and construction stages, addressing design-related queries and technical issues.
🔹 Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering (Civil/Structural preferred).
- 8 to 15 years of solid experience in design management within a consultancy environment.
- Strong knowledge of UAE design standards, Dubai Building Code, and authority approval procedures (DM, DDA, Trakhees).
- Proven track record in managing and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and architectural teams.
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and high-level communication skills.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in complex project environments.
- Proficiency in design software and IT project management platforms.
- Strong professional network within the UAE’s consultancy and authority sectors.
