Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teacher to join our vibrant team in Fujairah. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting students whose first language is not English, helping them overcome linguistic barriers to achieve academic success. You will design and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning needs, ensuring that every student develops the confidence and skills necessary to thrive in an English-medium environment. The ideal candidate is a passionate educator with a strong background in linguistics and a commitment to inclusive pedagogical practices.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality EAL lessons that support students in developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and the Management team.
- Develop and adapt instructional materials to meet the diverse linguistic needs of learners within the classroom.
- Collaborate with subject teachers to integrate language support across the wider curriculum.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and celebrates diversity.
- Liaise with the Human Resources department regarding professional development and school-wide educational initiatives.
- Coordinate with the school’s Engineering or IT team to utilize educational technology and digital language learning tools.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events to support the teacher community.
🔹 Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a closely related field.
- A valid professional teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent) is mandatory.
- Minimum 2 years of proven teaching experience, specifically in EAL/ESL settings.
- Previous teaching experience within the UAE is highly preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire learners from various backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English.
- Commitment to the holistic development of students and a proactive approach to inclusive education.
- Familiarity with modern language acquisition theories and pedagogical strategies.
