Job Description:
We are currently hiring a skilled and detail-focused General Accountant to join our finance team in Abu Dhabi. This role is specifically designed for a professional with deep-rooted experience in the construction sector, capable of managing complex project costings and inter-departmental financial coordination. You will be the primary lead for tax compliance, ensuring that all VAT and Corporate Tax obligations are met in accordance with Federal Tax Authority (FTA) standards. The ideal candidate is a bilingual professional with a sharp analytical mind, ready to uphold financial discipline across all site and office operations.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor detailed project costs, manage budgets, and ensure strict financial discipline across all site operations.
- Prepare accurate monthly financial reports, statements, and comprehensive account reconciliations.
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers and site teams to resolve financial discrepancies and oversee billings.
- Manage end-to-end VAT filing, maintaining all required documentation and compliance records.
- Ensure the organization remains fully compliant with UAE Corporate Tax regulations and reporting standards.
- Liaise directly with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) for official submissions, audits, and regulatory inquiries.
- Oversee the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules related to engineering equipment.
- Collaborate with the Management team on cash flow forecasting and project-wise profitability analysis.
- Assist the Human Resources department with payroll reconciliation and staff-related cost allocations.
🔹 Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (Attested Certificate is mandatory).
- Minimum 5 years of solid UAE experience specifically within the construction or engineering sector.
- Arabic language proficiency is mandatory (written and verbal).
- Strong working knowledge of VAT laws, FTA regulations, and UAE Corporate Tax frameworks.
- Proven track record in cost accounting, financial controls, and bank reconciliations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (QuickBooks or similar platforms) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to successfully pass a technical written accounting assessment during the interview process.
- Must currently be residing in the UAE and available for immediate joining.
