Job Description:
MyShops UAE is seeking a meticulous and organized General Accountant to manage daily financial operations in Dubai. This role is fundamental to our accounting function, requiring a professional who can ensure accurate financial reporting and maintain strict compliance with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations. You will be responsible for managing the general ledger, reconciling retail sales, and conducting periodic stock audits to ensure inventory accuracy. 🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the General Ledger, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and bank reconciliations for management review.
- Oversee retail sales reconciliations, monitor inventory levels, and lead periodic stock audits.
- Process verified payments and support comprehensive monthly and annual financial reporting activities.
- Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations through accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes and maintain accurate records.
- Liaise with the Human Resources department regarding payroll accounting and staff expense reimbursements.
- Utilize Information Technology and ERP systems like Zoho Books or Odoo for real-time financial tracking.
- Support education initiatives for the operations team regarding financial compliance and internal controls.
🔹 Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce from a recognized institution.
- 2 to 5 years of professional experience in the UAE, specifically in trading, retail, or distribution sectors.
- Proven technical knowledge of IT-based accounting systems such as Zoho Books, Odoo, or SAP.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel with a focus on data accuracy and financial modeling.
- In-depth understanding of UAE VAT laws and Corporate Tax requirements.
- Professional background in education or training related to international financial reporting standards (IFRS) is a plus.
- Ability to coordinate with engineering or logistics teams for asset depreciation and inventory valuations.
- Immediate availability for joining is highly preferred.
