Eligibility Criteria

General & Educational Requirements

  • Age Limit: 18 to 30 years (Maximum 40 years for Ex-Servicemen).
  • Educational Qualification: Minimum Matriculation Second Division or equivalent.
  • Ineligibility: Candidates with a 3rd division in SSC are not eligible.
  • Domicile: Candidates must apply only for the posts relevant to their domicile district.

Physical Standards

  • Height (Male): Minimum 5 feet and 7 inches.
  • Chest (Male): 33 inches (without extension) and 34½ inches (with extension).
  • Height (Female): Minimum 5 feet and 1 inch.
  • Eyesight (All Candidates): 6/6 without glasses.

Physical Endurance Test (ETEA)

  • Male Candidates: 1.6 KM in seven (07) minutes.
  • Female Candidates: 1 KM in ten (10) minutes.

Special Instructions

Ex-Servicemen (& Gatekeeper)

  • Application Method: Apply directly to the concerned Deputy Inspector General Regional Prison Officer (do not apply through ETEA).
  • Exemption: They are exempted from the division/percentage rule in SSC and the Physical Endurance Test.
  • Preference: Ex-Servicemen will be given preference for Warder posts.

Testing and Selection

  • Government Servants: Must apply through the departmental head office with an N.O.C.
  • Screening Test: The ETEA Screening Test marks are used only for shortlisting and are not included in the final overall score.
  • Interview: Only five (05) shortlisted candidates will be called for interview for each post.
  • TA/DA: No TA/DA will be admissible for the test/interview.
