Job Description:
Starwood Industries LLC is currently looking for a meticulous and commercially aware Quantity Surveyor (Joinery) to join our interior fit-out division in the UAE. This role is vital for our tendering and estimation processes, requiring a professional who can confidently interpret complex technical drawings and convert them into accurate, competitive cost estimates for bespoke projects. You will be responsible for the entire commercial lifecycle of a tender, from detailed material take-offs to subcontractor evaluation. We are seeking an analytical individual who understands the nuances of joinery fabrication and can ensure that every commercial submission aligns with both project specifications and the competitive UAE market standards.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze architectural and technical drawings to carry out detailed quantity take-offs specifically for high-end joinery works.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, including labor, material pricing, subcontractor charges, and overhead allocations.
- Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and evaluate prevailing market rates for timber and finishes.
- Develop structured Bill of Quantities (BOQ) documents and compile professional technical and commercial tender submissions.
- Monitor fluctuations in joinery materials and production costs to ensure ongoing pricing accuracy for the management team.
- Assist in tender negotiations and coordinate the smooth transition of projects to production and site execution teams.
- Coordinate with Human Resources regarding departmental manpower planning for large-scale fit-out projects.
- Utilize Information Technology tools, AutoCAD, and specialized estimation software for precise data management.
🔹 Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Quantity Surveying.
- 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in joinery estimation or quantity surveying within the UAE market.
- Solid technical knowledge of joinery materials, fabrication methods, and various finishing techniques.
- Strong command of AutoCAD and advanced MS Excel for complex cost modeling.
- High level of proficiency in IT tools for technical reporting and documentation.
- Excellent analytical skills with a focus on cost planning, vendor coordination, and high attention to detail.
- Professional communication skills in English; familiarity with the UAE construction and fit-out regulations.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced manufacturing and management environment.
