Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Dubai. This role is critical for overseeing core accounting functions while ensuring accuracy and financial integrity across our diverse project portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical accounting knowledge specifically within the contracting sector, where project-based cost analysis and budgeting are paramount. You will play a key role in managing financial operations, supporting strategic business planning, and coordinating with both internal project managers and external stakeholders. We are looking for a hands-on professional with a CA or CPA certification who is ready to take ownership of our financial systems and lead our accounting team toward operational excellence.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage comprehensive financial reports in strict accordance with IFRS and local accounting standards.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning activities for major projects.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis to support Management decisions and optimize project profitability.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely settlement and healthy cash flow.
- Coordinate with external auditors and ensure all audit-related requirements are met with high accuracy.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations and VAT laws.
- Partner with Human Resources to supervise payroll accounting and staff-related financial policies.
- Maintain and optimize the company’s financial systems and Information Technology tools for reporting.
- Lead and mentor the junior accounting team, fostering a culture of precision and ethics.
🔹 Requirements:
- Mandatory: Professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Proven accounting experience specifically within the Contracting or Engineering industry is essential.
- Strong hands-on understanding of project-based accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel for complex data analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and financial compliance frameworks.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly organized with a proactive approach to managing financial risks.
- Ability to join immediately is highly preferred.
