Job Description:
The Accountant will oversee daily financial operations, project accounting, supplier billing, and tax compliance for a contracting firm in Dubai. Based in Dubai, this experienced financial professional will manage accounts payable and receivable, perform bank reconciliations, track project budgets and expenditures, prepare UAE VAT filings, and collaborate closely with procurement and site project management teams.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting transactions.
- Prepare invoices, payment certificates, and supplier payments.
- Handle Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP).
- Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations.
- Track project costs and assist with project budgeting.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Coordinate with project and procurement teams on financial matters.
🔹 Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, with preference given to background in contracting or construction industries.
- Solid knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax (CT) guidelines, and standard accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software platforms and advanced Microsoft Excel for financial tracking and reconciliations.
- Practical experience in payment certificates, project cost tracking, and invoice management.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and time-management skills; UAE driving license is an advantage.
