Job Description:
MBS is seeking a detail-oriented Purchase Officer to manage technical procurement activities at its office in Sharjah. Based in Sharjah, this procurement professional will manage raw material sourcing, evaluate vendor quotations, release Purchase Orders (POs), coordinate international Letters of Credit (LCs) and local PDCs with finance teams, monitor supplier lead times, and maintain precise ERP procurement ledgers.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Procure raw materials and production consumables at competitive prices while ensuring timely availability.
- Request, review, and evaluate supplier quotations and prepare comparative analysis reports.
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) based on approved requirements and delivery schedules.
- Collect supplier contracts, invoices, and required documentation while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with the Finance Department for timely issuance of Letters of Credit (LCs) for international purchases and Post-Dated Cheques (PDCs) for local orders.
- Monitor order progress and provide regular updates to relevant departments.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain and update procurement records, including import LC registers, LC priority lists, transit tracking, and raw material cost records.
🔹 Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 1–2 years of procurement experience, with specific exposure to sourcing technical materials and raw components in the PEB or steel manufacturing industry.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP procurement modules, supplier negotiation, purchasing workflows, and documentation.
- Familiarity with financial commercial processes including LCs, PDCs, import tracking, and vendor invoice verification in an engineering domain.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic skills are an advantage), analytical capabilities, and organizational efficiency.
