Accountant – Dubai South, UAE | Aviation / VAT / Final Accounts

About the Role:

A reputable aviation interiors and maintenance company located in Dubai South is looking for an experienced Accountant to join its Finance Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing VAT and FTA compliance, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate final accounts closing.

Key Responsibilities:

The Accountant will oversee all VAT and FTA compliance activities (filings, reconciliations, documentation), prepare detailed financial statements in accordance with IFRS, handle the finalization of accounts (ledger management, accruals), coordinate with external auditors, and assist management with financial planning and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all VAT and FTA compliance activities, including timely filings, reconciliations, and adherence to UAE Federal Tax Authority standards.
• Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Handle the finalization of accounts, managing general ledger reconciliations, adjustments, and accrual entries.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support the full audit cycle.
• Assist management with financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and performance reporting.

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of accounting experience within the UAE, with strong knowledge of VAT and FTA rules and procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CA are highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience using Tally ERP, QuickBooks, or comparable accounting software systems.
• Strong communication abilities with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Candidates who can join immediately or within a short notice period will be given preference.
