Job Description:
WTS Energy is seeking a highly experienced and strategic QHSE Director (or Associate Director) to oversee and strengthen the Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental functions across our project portfolio in Abu Dhabi. This is a top-tier leadership role designed for a professional who can influence corporate strategy and ensure operational excellence at every level. You will be responsible for shaping company-wide QHSE policies, maintaining rigorous international standards, and leading multidisciplinary teams across various project sites. We are looking for a visionary leader with an extensive background in engineering or large-scale construction who can embed a proactive safety culture while driving continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement high-level QHSE strategies aligned with corporate objectives and regional regulatory requirements.
- Oversee and maintain the integrity of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems across all energy and construction operations.
- Lead all internal and external audits, manage corporate risk assessments, and supervise critical incident investigation processes.
- Promote and embed a proactive quality and safety culture across all high-value project locations.
- Provide strategic leadership, mentorship, and performance management for the regional QHSE department.
- Liaise with the Human Resources department to ensure all staff training and safety inductions meet global best practices.
- Utilize advanced Information Technology systems for data-driven safety reporting and compliance tracking.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for government authorities and external stakeholders regarding safety and environmental governance.
🔹 Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- 12 to 15+ years of progressive senior-level experience in QHSE roles within the energy or construction sectors.
- Extensive exposure to large-scale infrastructure, development, or engineering projects.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or ISO Lead Auditor are highly preferred.
- Strong leadership presence with exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- High level of proficiency in IT tools for advanced data analysis and corporate reporting.
- Proven ability to manage complex global operations and drive significant continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills in English; familiarity with regional UAE regulations and standards is essential.
