Job Description:
Dunes International School is inviting applications from qualified and dedicated educators for the position of Social Studies Teacher for Cycle 2 and Cycle 3, who will also take on the strategic responsibility of Head of Department (HOD). This leadership role is fundamental to our academic framework, requiring a professional who can balance high-quality classroom instruction with departmental oversight. You will be responsible for leading the Social Studies faculty, mentoring teachers, and ensuring that curriculum standards are strictly aligned with national and international educational objectives. 🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and well-structured Social Studies lessons to students across Cycle 2 and Cycle 3.
- Lead and manage the Social Studies Department, ensuring consistent academic standards and effective curriculum implementation.
- Guide and support department teachers through active mentoring, lesson observations, and constructive performance feedback.
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials in line with education regulatory standards.
- Monitor student progress and implement data-driven strategies to enhance departmental academic performance.
- Coordinate departmental meetings, collaborative planning sessions, and rigorous curriculum reviews.
- Liaise with the Human Resources department regarding faculty recruitment and professional development tracking.
- Utilize Information Technology platforms to facilitate digital learning and streamline departmental administration.
🔹 Requirements:
- Academic qualifications must include a B.A., M.A., and a B.Ed. degree.
- An Equivalency Certificate is mandatory as per UAE educational regulatory requirements.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar leadership or Head of Department (HOD) role.
- Strong subject expertise in Social Studies and demonstrated pedagogical leadership capabilities.
- Excellent organizational, classroom management, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in IT tools for educational management and interactive teaching.
- Commitment to maintaining high educational standards and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
