Job Description:
The Accountant will oversee full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, UAE VAT compliance, and trade finance operations for an industrial trading company in Dubai. Based in Dubai, this experienced financial professional will handle general ledger management, import accounting, supplier advance allocations, Letter of Credit (LC) documentation, FTA VAT reconciliations, and credit control procedures.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the complete accounting cycle, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and assist with UAE VAT return filings in compliance with FTA regulations.
- Maintain proper accounting documentation and audit trails for FTA inspections.
- Coordinate with external auditors and ensure compliance with IFRS.
- Strengthen internal controls and support ERP process improvements.
- Manage import accounting, customs documentation, freight verification, supplier advance allocations, and Letter of Credit (LC) documentation.
- Reconcile Import VAT with the FTA Portal (Box 6).
- Reconcile supplier statements and ensure timely allocation of supplier advances.
- Monitor customer aging, credit control, and customer account reconciliations.
- Follow up on overdue customer payments and maintain healthy receivable balances.
🔹 Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2–5+ years of UAE accounting experience within a Trading or Distribution company.
- Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, Trade Finance, and IFRS standards.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial reconciliations.
- Practical experience in import accounting, customs verification, and Letter of Credit (LC) processing.
- Strong analytical, organizational, credit control, and professional communication skills.
