Job Description / Role
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Design and implement a multi-route ocean freight sales strategy to expand market share and achieve ambitious revenue targets.
- Revenue Growth: Lead the acquisition of high-value corporate accounts while deepening long-term strategic relationships with existing key clients.
- Team Mentorship: Recruit, coach, and inspire a high-performing sales team, instilling a results-oriented culture and disciplined pipeline management.
- Carrier Relations: Cultivate and leverage strong partnerships with major shipping lines and overseas agents to secure competitive space and rates.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor global shipping trends, GRI (General Rate Increases), and competitor movements to ensure agile commercial decision-making.
- Operations Synergy: Partner with the operations and customer service departments to ensure high-fidelity delivery and service standards.
🔹 Requirements:
- Industry Tenure: 8 to 12 years of proven success in ocean freight sales specifically within a freight forwarding environment.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage, scale, and motivate sales teams in a high-pressure logistics market.
- Established Network: A robust, existing network of contacts among major shipping lines, importers, and exporters.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of ocean freight pricing, incoterms, and global trade lanes.
- Regional Advantage: Prior experience in the GCC or Middle Eastern markets is highly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; extensive relevant industry experience will be considered.
