Job Description:

The Horticulturist – Nursery & Native Plants will direct commercial nursery production for native and ornamental species, review project BOQs and plant schedules, manage irrigation, nutrition, and pest control, ensure plant quality standards, and coordinate supply for major landscape projects in Abu Dhabi.

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the production and maintenance of native and ornamental trees, shrubs, and groundcovers.
  • Develop nursery production plans based on project requirements and delivery schedules.
  • Review BOQs, plant schedules, project specifications, and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure plants meet quality standards, including health, size, root development, and dispatch readiness.
  • Oversee irrigation, fertilization, plant nutrition, pruning, pest control, and disease management.
  • Monitor nursery inventory, plant availability, mortality rates, and future production needs.
  • Lead nursery teams to improve productivity, operational efficiency, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with Projects, Procurement, Sales, and Operations to ensure timely plant supply.

🔹 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, Plant Science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong practical experience in commercial nursery operations and native/ornamental plant propagation.
  • Prior experience supporting large-scale landscape project plant supply within UAE growing conditions is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in irrigation management, plant nutrition, pest/disease treatment, and nursery inventory control.
  • Excellent English communication, organizational, and team leadership capabilities.
