Job Description:
We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-driven Junior Quantity Surveyor to support post-contract financial evaluations and guide material take-offs for our centralized commercial team in Abu Dhabi. Operating as a critical cost administrator on active project sites, this full-time role focuses on verifying subcontractor measurements, balancing variation claims registers, and updating project ledger structures under our comprehensive engineering operations management framework.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing highly accurate material take-offs, digital plan extractions, and structural Bills of Quantities (BOQ) according to standard measurement principles.
- Support the commercial team in framing, validating, and submitting monthly interim payment applications (IPAs) for active infrastructure sites.
- Process incoming subcontractor invoices, cross-check site progress valuations, and assist in drafting formal interim payment certifications.
- Provide technical material quantity checks to site operations teams to evaluate and validate daily purchase requests (PRs).
- Maintain clean, audit-ready commercial logs, including fluctuating variations, contract trackers, cost-to-complete models, and claims registers.
- Support comprehensive budget monitoring, cost-control activities, and baseline budget comparison exercises to mitigate project financial leakages.
- Use advanced Excel calculations, data lookup rules, and progress tracking matrices to run routine financial health analyses.
- Assist in drafting formal contractual correspondence, verifying variation orders, and assembling commercial backup packages for project stakeholders.
🔹 Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Building Economics, or a closely related construction engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- 0 to 3 years of successful professional experience within the construction or civil engineering sectors, with active priority given to candidates holding GCC exposure.
- Strong technical literacy and hands-on familiarity navigating industry software tools, specifically including AutoCAD, Planswift, and related digital take-off systems.
- Advanced proficiency utilizing Microsoft Excel to build progress sheets, configure pivot data, and execute mathematical tracking models.
- Solid fundamental understanding of construction cost control workflows, standard methods of measurement (POMI/CESSM), and contract structures.
- Exceptional numerical and analytical data processing skills paired with an immaculate, detail-oriented approach to structural documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication capabilities to collaborate smoothly with site engineers, material suppliers, and senior commercial leads.
