Job Description / Role
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Mise en Place: Expertly prepare, portion, and organize ingredients for daily service, ensuring the line is fully stocked and ready for high-volume service.
- Culinary Execution: Assist senior chefs in the preparation and cooking of various dishes, ensuring consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation.
- Kitchen Discipline: Maintain an impeccably clean and organized workstation, adhering strictly to “Clean as You Go” principles.
- Hygiene Standards: Follow all local municipal food safety regulations and international HACCP standards for food storage, handling, and cooking temperatures.
- Inventory Support: Assist in monitoring stock levels and notifying the Sous Chef of any shortages or quality issues with raw ingredients.
- Team Collaboration: Work fluidly within the kitchen brigade, following instructions with precision and supporting other stations during peak hours.
🔹 Requirements:
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in a professional hotel or restaurant kitchen environment.
- Culinary Knowledge: Solid understanding of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, and various food preparation processes.
- Safety Awareness: Thorough knowledge of kitchen hygiene, cross-contamination prevention, and general food safety protocols.
- Work Ethic: A positive, “can-do” attitude with a genuine willingness to learn and grow within the culinary field.
- Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Qualification: Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts or Food Preparation is highly preferred.
