Job Description / Role
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing: Execute end-to-end procurement for critical raw materials (limestone, gypsum, iron ore), heavy machinery spares, and plant consumables.
- Vendor Development: Identify and vet global and local suppliers, building a reliable vendor base that ensures uninterrupted plant operations.
- Commercial Negotiation: Lead high-stakes negotiations to secure optimal commercial terms, payment cycles, and long-term supply agreements.
- Operational Alignment: Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure parts and materials arrive in sync with planned maintenance shutdowns.
- Cost Optimization: Develop and implement aggressive cost-saving strategies and procurement policies to improve the organizational bottom line.
- Performance Monitoring: Conduct regular audits of supplier performance based on quality, lead times, and regulatory compliance.
🔹 Requirements:
- Industry Expertise: Mandatory 7 to 10 years of procurement experience strictly within the cement manufacturing industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of cement plant materials, specialized mechanical/electrical spares, and international sourcing practices.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Analytical Skills: Proven ability to manage complex budgets, perform cost-benefit analysis, and prepare detailed procurement reports.
- Negotiation Mastery: Exceptional track record in managing large-scale contracts and complex vendor relationships.
- Regional Advantage: Prior experience with UAE or GCC procurement regulations and logistics is highly preferred.
