Senior Accountant – Dubai, UAE | Jawhara Jewellery (Head Office)

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Record Management: Maintain complete and accurate financial records in strict adherence to IFRS and group accounting standards.
• Gold Operations: Coordinate the critical gold rate fixing process and ensure all related documentation is handled with precision.
• Intercompany Transactions: Manage and reconcile accounts across group entities, ensuring alignment and accuracy in consolidated reporting.
• Closing & Reporting: Support the full month-end and year-end closing cycles, preparing detailed financial reports for management review.
• AML & Compliance: Collaborate with the Compliance Department to support Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements and regulatory reporting.
• Audit & Tax: Prepare tax returns and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.

🔹 Requirements:

• Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) or Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance is highly preferred.
• Industry Expertise: Previous experience in the jewellery or luxury retail industry is strongly preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong exposure to IFRS compliance, cost allocation, and advanced reconciliations.
• System Knowledge: Proficient in MS Excel and Word; familiarity with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Microsoft Dynamics) is a plus.
• Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of UAE AML regulations and financial safeguarding practices.
• Attributes: High level of accuracy, proactive problem-solving skills, and the ability to supervise junior accounting staff.
